WTH??

Ok, here is one I must have missed. I was walking home the other day from the Plaza when I went by a city park and as you may imagine I was shocked by the sign I saw I like to believe that I keep up on things here in KC, however if there was a vote on this I missed it and in doing some research I am not finding much about this new occurrence. I am most concerned about this as a tax payer and the fact (if this is indeed a fact) that I pay takes for these parks and have no say when something like this occurs? We have to be very careful when these types of "rules" are put into play, doesn't the government have enough to worry about? (that was a rhetorical question) Once these laws go into play there is very little change of reversing them. What is next, Golf Courses? My Back Yard? The Beach? (Yes I am aware some cities already have these types of bans) Banning indoor smoking is one thing and also something I am not in favor of as a business has the right to poli

An Order of Spaghetti

I really do not want to have this become a joke blog, however these are simply to good not to post. T hanks to one of the Usual Suspects, M.C. For several years, a man was having an affair with an Italian woman. One night, she confided in him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he said he would pay her a large sum of money if she would go to Italy to secretly have the child. He would then arrange for the child support payments to begin.  One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife. 'Honey, she said, 'you received a very strange post card today.' 'Oh, just give it to me and I

Kansas City Cigar Festival II?

Recently Central Patti and I attended the 2013 Version of the KC Cigar Festival. As most of you may recall we attended a Cigar Festivalin 2010 which was touted as the first annual, however this never came to fruition as for a couple of years there was no Cigar Festival in KC. This year’s version was hosted by Diebel’s SportsmansGallery and was on the Country Club Plaza just up the street from our place.  The weather was very warm on this Saturday, however with Broadway shutdown and a large tent put up on the street there was ample shade and lots of places to sit. They also had a “Waterboy” constantly handing out free bottles of water to all participants. I think they could have used more fans and then the weather would not have been as much of a factor as it was. I will not dwell on the admission fee as I thought it was a little steep, however after the four hour event we had an excellent time and by the end as we calculated all the amenities
