In the Good Ole Summer Time

While it is not official summer we have been having some great summer time weather here. So naturally we have been making lots of summer time drinks. Here are a few of our favorites that we have either made or tried.

Nantucket Lemonade

We ran across this years ago on the Food Network and it has been a staple of our summer time drinks at MySideOfTheBar ever since

2 and 1/2 Cups Lemonade
1 Cup Cranberry Juice
1 and 1/2 tbs Fresh Lime Juice (or more if you really like lime)
1 and 1/2 Cups Vodka (Svedka is the official Vodka of MySideOfTheBar)
1 Cup Chilled Ginger Ale (or Diet Ginger Ale)
2 Cups Ice
Garnish with Frozen Berries.

White Wine Spritzers

We really love this drink and it is so easy to make. Take a favorite (or maybe not your favorite) white wine and chill. We have been using either Maui Blanc or Maui Splash from the Tedeschi Vineyards which as you might expect has a hint of pineapple. Then simply add club soda and you have a very refreshing summer drink.

You can also use any white wine and simply add a splash of orange pineapple juice.

Patti's World Famous Vodka Mojito

Patti invented this variation on the traditional Mojito several years back when we ran out of rum. We tried vodka instead and really enjoyed the change as it was not as sweet.

½ Lime
1 Jigger Vodka
1 Jigger Simple Syrup with muddled mint leave(s)
5 mint leaves

Muddle ingredients and add Ice
Fill glass with Club Soda
Roll in a shaker glass

or by the pitcher simply multiply the ingredients for your pitcher.

The Alligator Piss Martini

We tried this last weekend and found it quit refreshing, although as you can see by the ingredients very sweet. Our guest taster for the evening was C.O. and she really enjoyed this martini. (however I am not sure she ever met a martini she did not like :) )

1/3 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1/3 oz peach schnapps
1/3 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
1/3 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 splash sweet and sour mix

And last for all of you beer drinkers we even sampled some summer beers.

Samuel Adams Summer Style Variety Pack

This sampler contains six varieties and we really enjoyed the Sam Adams Light and the Summer Ale.

So with summer upon us try one of the above or send us your favorites to try here at MySideOfTheBar.

Cheers
