It has been a great couple of weeks here at MySideOfTheBar. We have attended a few events and spent some time in the lab trying new cocktails as well as sampling some great cigars. Here are just a few of the happenings from the last couple of weeks. A couple of weeks back we attended the Ashton Cigar Event – Challenge Your Palate at Fidel’s . MacArthur Punch 1.5 oz. Straight Rye Whiskey (I used Old Overholt) 1 oz. Dry Red Wine .5 oz. Cherry Brandy ( I used Krischwasser) .5 oz. Cointreau 2 oz. Orange Juice 1 oz. Lime Juice Combine all ingredients with ice in a shaker   and shake well. Strain into Collins or Rocks glass with cracked ice top with chilled soda water. Stir and Salute. The taste of this cocktail is the sum of all parts and is a nice refreshing summer drink. A little bitter and you can taste the wine, but still a drink I would make again.
